These Pulleys that are highly advanced in their features are installed at the discharge point of the conveyor, and can be used for removing tramp iron from the material moving on the belt.
The permanent magnetic pulley mainly performs two functions -
It protects crusher Jaws and other equipment and can also be used for purifying magnetic material from the mines. It is extensively applied in the ceramic, food, chemical, paper, mining and allied industries. Various coal handling and foundry operations can also be performed using magnetic pulleys.
For lending magnetic properties to a Permanent magnetic pulley, an internal assembly of magnets is used, which is then carefully enclosed in a non-magnetic SS shell. The steel Shaft extends to both the sides with a Keyway on one of its sides. The Pulleys have a face width, which is at least 50-100 mm greater than the belt width. The magnetic strength of the pulley can be gauged by the diameter and the overall quality of the magnets used in its construction. Pulleys that have Rare Earth Magnets are functionally superior and can handle a depths of at least 300 mm.
The Pulley width can be measured by measuring the width of the conveyor belt used in the process. The Diameter is dependent on the depth of material and the speed at which the conveyor moves.
